Poorly Made, Cheap Material
If you are looking for a product that will support any kind of weight, keep looking. The "wood" for the shelving and sides of this bookcase is paper thin. In fact, one of the side panels even came with a split in the "wood". Also, this product is very difficult to assemble. The back paneling is supposed to slide into a track on the side panel, but they were very warped and did not fit well. The center plastic piece meant to hold the two back panels together is too thick to allow the top and bottom shelves to adequately fit together. After several hours of an attempted assembly, my husband and I gave up. We boxed it back up and returned it to the store. I have never bought furniture from Walmart before, so I didn't realize how cheaply made their products were. For the price I knew it wouldn't be high quality oak, but I wasn't expecting it to be this bad.

A Beautiful Bargain
I found this same product on another website for considerably more money. If you are not frustrated by pre-drilled holes that do not line up for easy installation, this bookcase is for you. It looks really nice when totally put together.

Difficult to assemble!
The shelf looks pretty good, but was difficult to assemble. It definitely takes two people - one to try and hold pieces together while the other puts the screws in. There were no pre-drilled holes for inserting the screws to attach the backing on the shelf (easy enough to correct if you have a drill and small bits), the backing was thicker than the slit it was supposed to fit in. Some of the finish on the wood was damaged too. We bought the 4 tier tall shelf and really liked it, this one not so much.

Very hard to assemble
There were no pilot holes drilled in the back side of the middle shelf, to receive the screws that hold the back on. This made it impossible for one person to hold the shelf in place while assembling, so I drilled the 4 pilot holes myself before I could complete the assembly. Also, the hex head screws were very hard to turn with the supplied little hex tool. Once assembled, the piece looks OK, but I'd have bought a different product had I known how hard it was to put together.

Matched perfectly
I bought this to match our crib and changing table set, that we also bought at Walmart, the walnut color matched the existing furniture we had perfectly. It was easy to assemble...did it by myself and it took me about 30 minutes. All the pieces were included and in great shape, the directions were easy to follow. Not all the pieces are wood, the back side is a thick cardboard type material.
