Overall great purchase
I bought these bookcases for my shoes and I'm happy. First of all I put all three of them together in about 25 minutes so that was amazing to me. They fit about 12 pair of shoes. I plan on buying a few more for my kids rooms.

Buyer beware!
I bought 2 of these from my local Walmart store. Identical boxes but not identical product!! Look closely on the side of the box to see who manufactured it. I assembled the first one and was not impressed with the quality. I should have driven the extra 20 min to Ikea. When I was tapping on the back board, some of the shelving chipped away. On the front edges of the shelves, what I thought was white paint was worn off. I opened the second box and immediately noticed that the boards looked much better. These had actual white laminate glued onto the particle board and the first one is just thin white paper glued on. Also, the second box came with more screws for certain parts while the first shelf was mostly plastic parts. The first shelf was manufactured in China and the second in America. I'm returning the first one and hoping to find another one manufactured in America. Walmart needs to sell consistent product!!

It holds MUCH less then it look!
These shelves are carefully engineered to hold NOTHING. Don't let the photo deceive you. Unless you use only 1 shelf, you will not be able to put a standard 3-rings binder standing up-right. And even with that, only one of the shelves is tall enough.Oh, and don't make any mistake while assembling it. The other reviewers are right. Too much force, or any mistakes, will break the parts, or the boards, rendering it unusable.

Terrible in every way.
The particle board in these shelves is so weak, that tapping in the plastic retainers actually spreads the board apart so it ends up with no strength at all and ruins the finished side of the boards. The locking rings are so poorly designed that they cannot be removed once installed so don't make an error and then try to fix it. Once assembled, the shelves were so weak that I decided to put in some wood screws from the outside, ruining the already shabby appearance of this unit but the screws themselves spread the particle board apart so they didn't even hold. Threw the whole thing in the trash and forbade my wife from EVER buying a flat pack from Walmart again. We have other Flat Pack stuff from Ikea that went together well and has lasted years, but this stuff is just garbage.

Beat up
When I took all the pieces out of the box several of the pieces were either beat up or broken. Had to send it back and now I've been waiting for two weeks and still have not received a replacement.
