Much better quality than expected
Great bookcase, and easy to assemble if you take your time. I did it solo in about two and a half hours--I'm female, and moderately mechanical, but not particularly strong. The only tools necessary were a phillips head screwdriver and a hammer. The hardest part about the job was dragging/pushing/maneuvering the *incredibly* heavy box into the living room from the front porch.For the record, I already have three old 72" self-assembled bookcases from a different company (no idea which, actually) that I've had for nearly twenty years and lugged successfully through three moves, but they are nowhere near the sturdiness/quality of this shelf. This bookcase has ultra-thick, sturdy shelves with rounded edges that give it a classy look, and it's wider and just a bit deeper than the old shelves. It feels more solid. I have it filled with books and it is very attractive. Would definitely recommend--I'm considering buying another one!

Better than expected
I've used a number of inexpensive self-assembly shelving in the past and must say this one is the best I've ever used. Material is thicker and lighter and very easy to assemble, and the color matched my maple furniture better than most. Not as good as real wood of course, but a fraction of the price and worth it.

Nice!
Item arrived one day ahead of schedule and went together beautifully. No damages in transit and looks very similar to real wood. Shelves are thick and heavy. Good quality purchase!

Went together nicely; sturdy shelves
This bookcase is very attractive, and went together well. The shelves on this wide model are extra thick, to stay straight under a heavy load, of books, for example. I am very satisfied with this purchase.

Inexpensive and functional
