Just what I ordered
I have had SouthShore furniture for about 5 years now so I knew what to expect when I ordered this bookshelf. It was my first time putting something together, and it took me about 2 1/2 hours to complete. I couldn't find the hammer so I had to improvise, which is why it took me longer to finish it. The manual states it needs 2 people to put together, but one person is just fine, assembly was very easy to do and the bookshelf really isn't that heavy, I was able to lay it on the floor and lift it up myself while putting it together. Moving it to my room was simple, I had furniture gliders help me with that since we have carpet. The only problem I had was screwing the small piece at the top of the shelf on, it seems the screws were too small and they kept falling out so I just glued it with gorilla glue. But overall very satisfied with the product and you get your money's worth.

Good product
I ordered two (white). This is the first put-together product that I've received where the holes were properly drilled and matched up. And, plenty of supplies. The instructions are pictures only, so I had to figure out a few things. Both arrived on time as promised, in good shape and fairly easy to put together. The back is heavy cardboard (color matches the bookcase), attached with small nails to the back. I'm using them as shelves in my master closet to hold linens and other items. I recommend this bookcase if you don't need a heavy-duty, all-wood, frequently used bookcase (like shoving books in and out a lot as the back may become loose). All you need is a small hammer and Phillips screwdriver to put them together. They are great, basic, shelves.

Great inside a closet, terrific customer service
I bought two of these bookcases in white for my son's closet to store his collections of books, games, and toys. They were easy to assemble and are sturdy. The price was great. All the parts were there, and the directions were clear. One of the boxes had 2 left sides and no right side. I contacted South Shore, and they sent me a replacement right side within 4 days. I am not crazy about formica or melamine or whatever the plastic laminate with visible seams along the edges is called. So I would not use these bookcases in a room where they would be visible. But they were perfect for a closet and a lot easier than installing built in shelves. This height fit under the existing shelf and rod. I just put them in, so I don't know how they'll hold up over time, but so far, so good.

Nice and sturdy bookshelf
This is a nice, simple, and sturdy bookshelf. It's heavy, so it may require 2 people to assemble and carry.It's easy to assemble, as long as you take your time reading and following instructions.
