Llooks great but scrathes easily

I own several pieces in this collection and I love the look and the functionality but all of the pieces scratch very easily. Also, I had owned these tables for about a month when my Mother in law decided to polish the living room for me. She sprayed polish on the top of one of the end tables, went back to the other side of the room to pick up her microfiber polishing cloth and walked straight back to the table she was working on, in that time, the polish had "melted" into the finish of the table and we have never been able to "rub it out".
