I liked the product.
It does take time to put it together but once its done it looks really good. I have real oak office furniture in my home office and this almost matches it. It is a shade darker but the grain looks real. A great price for what you get.

Doubly disappointed...
I am doubly disappointed because I purchased two of these units. I've had good experiences with other Sauder products before but this bookcase did not meet that standard. The bookcase is what it is. It is primarily of particle board construction. The trim pieces are made of MDF. The instructions are very sketchy. Some of the parts are identified with an adhesive labeled while other parts are identified with handwritten markings. No parts were missing. Based on the overall dimensions of the bookcase, I had expectred that each of the five shelves would be able to hold a binder vertically. This is not the case. Only three of the five shelves allow you to do this. While the trim pieces attached to each shelf and the outer vertical members gives the bookcases a more robust look, these same trim pieces significantly reduce the volume of books or binders one may store on the shelves. After assembling the units, they were somewhat wobbly so I reinforced them with metal L-brakets. Many bookcases allow one to store items above the top shelf. This unit does not do this as the top of it is primarily a decorative molding and thus it obstructs the top of the shelf from being used. To me, Sauder chose appearance at the cost of functionality.

It's a beautiful book case ... had a little trouble assembling it but once it was completed it turned out beautifully!

Great for the price
We needed something to provide a little more storage without taking up a lot of space. This worked out well. Assembly was easy and it looks fine.

Beautiful bookcase, speedy delivery.
We are very pleased with the bookcase. It is a medium regular oak color, and looks and feels sturdy. Assembly was straight forward, although we have had some experience putting these kinds of things together. We are happy to recommend it.
