Good product for the price
You get what you pay for but for under $30 this is a good buy for the garage or hobby room. Goes together easy. Since it is made of compressed sawdust be careful. Do not try to move it with anything in it or you are asking for trouble. Just wish Walmart kept them in stock!

Excellent Value
We were looking for some cheap (but nice) bookcases for our kids' playoom. We were going to get Billy bookcases from IKEA (already have 2) but I saw these for almost half the price ($27.84 vs. $49.99) and decided to take a shot and bought 2. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the quality is on par with IKEA and the construction is virtually identical. (Same put together hardware with the exception of the dowels which are plastic in this set and wood in the IKEA version.) I was expecting a nightmare for installation with midrilled holes, etc. but it was simple and straight forward and fit together PERFECTLY. Roughly 30 minutes each. Instructions could have been better (of course, that applies to everything these days), a few pieces did not have labels, but it wasn't a problem. (The labels even came off without any sticky residue!)I was momentarily worried when the frame was together (without the cardboard backing) as it had no lateral support. But that changed when the backing was nailed on and it is now quite sturdy. The major difference with the Billy bookcases is the the IKEA ones have a single piece for each side - this unit has two pieces which allows it to fit in a smaller box. There also is no molding cut out on the bottom/back to allow the bookcase to sit flush with the wall. (It does come with a top tether to prevent tipping over.) Each shelf holds up to 35 pounds, but one other difference is that the shelves do not have detents for the support dowels to sit in. Instead they come with flat supports that sit in the adjustable holes. This would potentially allow the shelves to slide out, but they are in there pretty tightly and I don't think it will be an issue.Overall this is an excellent value. I couldn't be happier.P.S. Made in Canada - so support our friends up north... instead of overseas.

You get what you pay for..
The many unfinished edges bothered me. The top and the bottom two shelves are only finished on one side. They just keep getting cheaper and cheaper. They were also uneven, the permanent shelf in the middle was longer and stuck out on one side quite far. Otherwise they work and don't look too bad. It's a good, cheap option.

Buyer Beware
Terrible, terrible, terrible. Side panels were labeled backwards (A was B, B was A). When put together was VERY flimsy. Cam lock locked into place, but was unsteady at the those joints. Used my industrial stapler here. The lower back panel was too short. Both panels were not square and did not line up correctly, but stapled anyway. When my daughter and I stood it up and put it in the corner, it lasted all of one minute before it fell and ripped out at the cam locks. I can't even put it back together, because it ripped the wood out when it fell. Going to put it out for garbage. If I could rate it a zero, I would.

Looks nice, easy to assemble, light enough to move on my own. Just wish I could buy them at the store! My house is full of them.
