Looks great for the price
This worked great for the niche I had. I bought 2 of them to go on either side of my TV stand. They look great and were so easy to put together. It took one screwdriver and I was able to assemble both of them while watching the movie Brave with my daughter. The color wasn't as dark as I was expecting. I was hoping for a near black color. This had much more red than I was expecting. I almost thought I was incorrectly shipped a cherry color at first. I wish it had one more shelf, the shelves were 18" deep instead of 12" and that the shelves were adjustable. But overall, for the price, I am very happy to find a unit that looks as nice as this to fit the space I had to work with that closely matches with my existing cabinet.

It Stinks!
First, I think this shelf will last a long time. It went together well, and I believe there won't be any of the sagging you can get with particle board. It does look nice.Next, the description says it's made from solid and composite wood. True, but misleading. It's 98% composite (pressboard) and ONLY the cross piece at the top is solid wood. It's painted and not stained.My biggest complaint is that it stinks. Literally, it smells. Another reviewer noted the same thing. It's formaldehyde. The Chinese use it to keep the wood from rotting as it's coming over. It's gross and makes a tiny place like mine smell bad. I'm going to hose it down with Febreeze and see if that helps. If not, I may return it. Yes, it's THAT bad.

Has a terrible odor
The item looks fine, but whatever it is made of, it gives off a terrible smell. Probably has something to do with the whatever the coloring is made of. We have had the item displayed for over a week now and it still wreeks of this chemical smell that it gives off! We could smell it from down the hall. We are only hoping it will go away soon.
