Looks good, feels cheap.
I needed a hallway shelving system. Saw this at Walmart, thought it was a great price. Super easy to assemble. Superquick. Probably took five minutes. Anyone can do it. It looks more expensive than it feels. Although it is semi sturdy... definitely will not be able to put much weight on it. Looks great though. I purchased the better home and garden storage cubes instead of the mainstays. The BH&G storage cubes are great. Extremely sturdy, extremely well-made. The mainstays are smaller, and do not fit is well. Not to mention, very cheap looking & feeling. Go for the Better Homes & Gardens. ❤️ it though. Overall, I am very happy with my purchase. would definitely recommend if you are looking for something inexpensive.

Great Deal - Sturdy and Attractive!
We just received the Mainstays 6 Cube Storage Shelf yesterday and have to say how well it was packed and arrived damage free. After opening the box we found all pieces were there and the colors of the "tubes" and shelves match perfect (we purchased white). The "tubes" connecting the shelves are a very heavy and sturdy plastic and simply screw into each other with the shelve in between the two tubes. Once they are screwed together there are no gaps between the shelve and tube. Make sure you start with the top shelf first, all shelves are marked so you will know which is the top.Once it is assembled, which only took about 10 minutes, we placed it on a hardwood floor and then on carpet and have to say that with the 4 feet on the bottom the shelving unit is very sturdy on either - our one cat proved that by jumping on the 3rd shelf when on the carpet and the shelf didn't budge at all, no sign of tipping!Great deal, great product, you won't be sorry with this purchase!

Good shelf, but could be better...
I bought this shelf because I needed something to set my printer on and have a little storage space. Some reviewers stated they used them to hold TV's so I thought they must be pretty sturdy. When I received the shelving, it was pretty easy to assemble. I had it together fairly quickly. I had purchased some Better Homes and Gardens storage cubes to place on the two bottom shelves. Adding the cubes makes the shelving look much nicer. I placed the printer on the top and a small speaker on the first section. Not long after adding these items, I'd say within a week, the shelves starting bowing a little. This was with barely any weight added to them. The paint also seems to rub off pretty easy on the corners. Overall, if you aren't looking for anything fancy, this does the job for the price. I can't complain too much. I've had it for several months now and the shelves haven't bowed anymore. I wouldn't recommend putting anything heavy on them.

Marvelous shelving
The delivery was faster than expected. The item was light enough to carry by myself. So easy to assemble. I was amazed. Looks really good. Tall enough and just wide enough to use as a corner unit in my bedroom to hold photos and my DVD player on the second shelf, my printer on the third shelf, a DVD collection on the fourth shelf and yes, my 36" flat screen TV on the top shelf. Stable, attractive, and a really great price. Seldom do you get such a good product at such a price. Perfect for my purposes. The shelves give an open feel to the space, better than a closed TV cabinet. Planning to order a second one to use as a dessert bar or beverage bar or coffee hutch, or candy buffet when entertaining indoors or under an umbrella on the deck. So many great uses. In an apartment it would be Easy to take apart and store in its box when not entertaining. I may even order three more to line up against the wall in my craft room to store the bulk of my craft items. Love it.

LOVE IT!!!!
This is the 1st review I've ever written because I love this shelf! I bought it in the birch which is a very light natural wood color with gray posts. I initially was just trying to find something that would match the gray crib I bought for my baby's room. I was hesitant to buy a crib in gray as I didn't think I would ever be able to find a matching gray piece of furniture. I saw this and thought it would be perfect. I got the gray canvas Better Holmes & Gardens canvas storage drawers (which I think are the same shown in the photo) and they look great! After putting the shelves together which took me 5 minutes, I decided this is my favorite piece of "furniture" I've ever owned. And it only cost $15!!!! The canvas bins fit great and are huge so I can fit all my baby's clothes n blankets in just 4 bins then I have 2 shelves available for decorative items. I love it so much I've since ordered 2 more. One for my living room to store baby's toys in and one extra I have not yet decided where I can put it but for the price, I have it if I need it!!!!Read more
