Great Item

Looks small but holds a lot
When reviewing this item online, I looked at the dimensions and initially thought this might be too big for the area needed to place it in. But after assembly, it was actually smaller than I expected. I thought it would be deeper. Once I started to place books, DVD's and magazines, I found that it can hold quite a bit of items and is pretty sturdy. It also matches my bedroom set nicely.I only gave it 4 stars because it's smaller than I thought it would be and it was also a bit pricey for the size. But because it fits into the space I had and still has ample space to fit all the things I want to put on it, I would recommend it to others.

Good for What They Are
We bought three of these for our den. They are great for what they are - utilitarian book cases - but by no means quality furniture. The assembly instructions were quite good, and they went together easily. They're rickety during assembly, but once they're squared, the back is screwed in place and the cross piece screwed to the top, they are fairly sturdy. We've stored books and CDs on the upper shelf without any sagging, but I wouldn't place any heavy objects on that shelf. We placed a 35 lb sculpture on the top close to the side support without any problem. When assembling it, be very careful setting the torque on an electric screw driver. I initially had the torque too high and it broke one of the cam locks and tore the underside of the shelf a bit. There were extra parts, so I replaced the cam lock. I was using a battery powered Craftsman screw driver. For the cam locks, I set it at 20 (22 broke the cam lock), at 4 for the cam lock posts, and at 2 for the screws for the back. All in all, if you're looking for an attractive, functional and inexpensive bookshelf, this is it.

Love this!
I was very pleased with this case, it arrived safely with no broken parts. The directions were a bit tricky to find though they were tucked in a tiny box. It was unmarred and in good shape. I was able to easily and quickly assemble this with only a screwdriver, the bar and lock attachments were easy and fast to do. The case seems pretty sturdy I'm storing canned goods on it and they can be quite weighty and this is holding up fine. Empty it is light enough that I can easily move it around by myself. All in all a nice case that I am very happy with.

Terrace Bookcase
This bookcase looks great in the on-line picture and it looks just as great after it's assembled. However, for the cost of the unit, it is a poorly made bookcase. The back, decorative panel is actually three pieces that slide into side grooves. The middle is held together by two metal bars. The back panel is very troublesome to install. Both the top and bottom shelves do not support the weight of even a small collection of books. The bottom shelf sags and easily separates from the back, decorative panel.
