Great Buy!!!
I ordered this product on 10/10/09 and it was delivered to the store (site to store is wonderful) on 10/16/09. I was able to put it together by myself in about an hour. It probably would take less time but one of the holes was drilled incorrectly, so it added a little bit of time. The color of the side panels are black and the shelves are a reddish color. Not traditional oak and not a dark cherry, somewhere in the middle. Looks great with the Miranda furniture from Wal-mart, which is what I have in my living room. Very sturdy and much less $$ than other places.

Poor quality control
Two of the shelves were broken in the box. The instructions say to not bring it back to the store, instead call the manufacturer. I called the manufacturer who said they would get back to me about replacing the broken shelves. Two days later I received a message that they can't replace the shelves so take it back to the store. Not easy to do after unpacking it from the original box. The bookcase looked nice but I couldn't use it with the visibly broken shelves. : (

Shelf Ladder
Easy instructions and assembly. Like the two tone colors: black and pecan/oak. The middle to the bottom shelves can accommodate books to magazines. Very pleased with product.
