80/100
They made a great effort to be sure the surface to be as smooth as possible. Not bad considering its made of solid wood (oak can't remember exactly).Nice packaging. All the existing holes lined up probably. It would be nice if the back side have predrilled holes for the back panels' screws. However with screws its easy to disassemble and reassemble the shelf when necessary than say with nails.A little bit of glue not totally cleaned up could be seen in the grooves on the two side panels.

A little disappointing
I am an avid collector of vinyl records so I needed my shelving to be at least 12.5 inches x 12.5 inches, I'm an adult trying to have a nice home so I wanted to steer away from particle board/veneers, and buy something made of solid wood that would really last. My wife and I put it together, read the instructions, which were straight forward enough, we've put many beds, desks and other shelves together in the past. took it apart in case we overlooked something and had the same problem... In addition to there being a small gouge out of the side, and one hole in the middle shelf being missed entirely and us hoping that 9 out of 10 screws being enough... The top does not connect to the middle dividers at all, they're off by about an inch so the top dividers are just sitting there until we can have a friend come over with a drill to see if we can fix it. My wife was very unhappy with the last step being faulty even after retracing our steps. It is very clearly a manufacturing error, if my records some of which are +50 years old are stored improperly they risk a lot of damage so I'm afraid to move them again. The shelf itself though, is very attractive dark wood, beautiful grain [minus the chip] in the right lighting. Fits vinyl perfectly. About 720 of 800 fit. It's really opened up the room, instead of many small shelves I have 1 large one. Very sleek, classy and adult. A very nice transitional piece from college dorm to first real home. Assuming that other shelving units are properly assembled by the factory and the connecting holes are in the right place to begin with.
