Very good value
I purchased (2) 3 shelf units and (1) 5 shelf unit for our homeschool classroom. I currently use the 5 shelf and one of the 3 shelf units for holding books. I do have a basket of science supplies on top of the taller unit along with a globe. The additional 3 shelf unit holds all of our supplies (paint, workbooks, curriculum, construction paper etc) housed in baskets. I have been nothing but pleased with my purchase. Yes- these are made of particle board, you have to put them together (they may have a few kinks w/alignment) and the boxes are very heavy. Did I expect a high quality material for the price? No. But these look nice, always garner compliments and absolutely suit our needs. I will be purchasing 3 more 3 shelf units next week to go in our walk in MBR closet for storage. I would recommend these to a friend if they are looking for basic, low cost shelving. (And I am an interior designer by trade)

Beautiful shelf
We purchased two of these bookcases. One for our daughter's homeschool needs and one for all of our books. They are cheap, but durable. And also pretty. They have held up nicely for 2 years so far with no issues.

Cheap, not worth the money
Box was unopened, undamaged. I opened it up, see a small corner of wood cracked. No problem. No one is going to see this bookcase, so I really didn't care. Put in the cam screws, and they wouldn't stay in the holes, even after tightening. I needed to reinforce it using screws I already had just so the one side would stay on. The back piece does not fit perfectly on the bookcase because the bookcase isn't square (aside from issues with the cam screws not staying in the holes, everything else was perfectly fine and fit together as it should), so it covers some parts and barely covers others. And though the instructions say you can use any type of furniture polish on it, I used a little bit of Pledge (which has no harsh chemicals) and a soft, lint free cloth, and the veneer was coming off.Don't waste your time with this. For ten dollars more (I paid around $25), you can get a way better quality bookcase from Staples or Home Depot that doesn't waste your time and doesn't look utterly cheap.(I bought a different type of bookcase along with this and that one was fine.)

Just what I needed.
Easy to put together and sturdy

Does the job
Would have gave it 5 stars but the material is not that sturdy enough and when I put some extra stuff on top the board was almost caving in in the middle. With that said it does hold quite a bit of books. Nothing fancy on style but I guess it is what you get for the price now a days.
