Love the Stand - Oh the pieces
Absolutely nothing comes put together and the amount of pieces makes for a time consuming build. BUT... It is totally worth it. The finished product looks great I mixed it two of the tall pieces to make an entertainment center!

Very Attractive Piece. Some features not practical
This unit is very attractive, actually better looking than I thought it would be. The measurements for the shelves, while accurate, do not take into consideration the outer metal support posts that you have to manuever between to get your equipment onto the shelf. My older audio eqipment was difficult to angle into position. For one piece we had to partially disassemble the piece to get it in. Lastly it has "fixed casters", which would be fine if they were fixed in a position that allowed the unit to roll. Instead they are fixed pointing diagonally from the corners which prohibits it from rolling in any direction. Casters fixed pointing forward, or even just decorative legs would have been a better choice in my opinion. I also thought the description indicated there was cord management, and unless the back panel with no holes or clips is intended to be management, it has none. Looks wise it is nicer than most bolt together wood by product pieces. Bought it for its rustic looks, it fills that bill nicely, so I am overall happy with the purchase.

Great Product, but difficult to set up
Over the last 13 years, I've bought several furniture pieces, which I put together myself. This was the first time I had to go out and by screws because the screws they provided didn't fit.I bought this as part of a set. When I started to put the TV Stand together, I noticed that the screws weren't fitting into the metal parts of the TV Stand. They seem to go in enough, so I screwed them in as far as they would go, and hoped the thing wouldn't fall apart when it was done.When I built the Tech Stand, the screws didn't fit in at all! We had a few smaller screws left over from other furniture pieces we had built, so we had to use those. Since we didn't have enough, we had to buy more to finish the Unit.The finished product looks great though. I have bought furniture in the past that was the least expensive I could find, and sometimes, when it was put together, it was obvious that it was not built by a professional... all of the furniture from the set looks exactly as it does in the ads! Great!

Awesome piece of work!!
I had already purchased the big TV stand and loved it so much, I next got the coffee table. And now I got this. I was really worried about purchasing the TV stand because there weren't very many good reviews. But maybe they have improved it or something since then because I absolutely love it. Now let me warn you it does take someone who can read directions very well to put it together. But if you follow the directions step by step you won't have any problems. Our holes lined up fine and all the parts and pieces were there. This was the 3rd piece in this collection that my 33 year old son-in-law put together so he had some practice, but this one took 1 hour and 10 minutes. The coffee table took right at an hour, but the TV stand with drawers took almost 4 hours to put together. So if you start with that one the rest seem easy. I still plan on purchasing the 2 end tables and one more of these "Piers" because I like it so well. Thank you Better Homes and Gardens and Walmart for a very nice and different set of furniture!! The black metal really sets it off.

Inappropriate for 17 inch audio equipment
My audio equipment is all about 17 inch wide. The shelves are wide enough, but the pillars cut off about 2 inches, making it impossible to slip my equipment into place so it turns out this is of no use to me as a tech pier/media tower. I have been looking for something that did not have a modern tech look, so I was quite hopeful.There was some damage that I noticed well into setup. However I was able to repair it. One of the wheel brackets was badly bent, but the metal is soft enough I was able to bend it back into shape.Construction is pretty good. Instructions are very good. Driving screws into metal pillars would have been difficult without electric driver. Pressboard is light so if you use an electric driver definitely drive the last bit of wood screws by hand.I would recommend this for shelving and a few pieces of small audio equipment. However, since I was hoping to use this with my 17 inch equipment but cannot, I chose to select Not Recommended.Read more
